We connect God's perfect companion with the perfect family

All in, we have almost 50 years of puppy passion and excellence!
PUPPY LOVE FROM ILLINOIS:
Because I travel to Illinois at least once a month, we offer adoption of White Barn Doodles and Uphoff Pets pups. We all hold the same standard for raising pups, as well as having the same life values.
We specialize in raising Petite Cavapoos (Cavoodles) and Petite Cockapoos (Sproodles). That means, sizing from 10-14lbs for Cockapoos and sizing from 10-18lbs for Cavapoos.
Our breeding process is carefully designed to ensure the health and well-being of our dogs. We conduct extensive health screenings and genetic testing to ensure that our puppies are free of any hereditary diseases or conditions. We handraise and socialize all of our puppies. We also provide our adult dogs with the best possible care, including proper nutrition and exercise.
We have no paws on the ground right now and are not expecting for awhile yet. So please visit my sister's website for available puppies.
As noted above, I travel to Illinois every 4-6 weeks and am available for bring your newest family member home with a paid reservation fee.

From this point, we will contact you via texting with weekly picture updates and a video around week 7-8 weeks. Please be patient for pictures and videos - we have a family too.
Please note, we do not ship our pups. If your family is chosen to adopt one of our pups, you will need to travel to Minnesota to pick up your pup.
NOTE: Due to the changing nature of our world, we do not allow visits from families before adoption day.
Adoption Day is scheduled for when puppies are 10-12 weeks old (never before 8 weeks; it's the law). On Adoption Day, plan for 30-60 minutes to meet with us and learn tips and helps for being a new puppy parent. You will be given a generous welcome home puppy packet and lots of good information. And, of course, hold your newest family member.
NOTE: We do not allow you to bring your other dog(s) to join you for Adoption Day.
The remaining adoption fee will be due in cash at that time. You will also be asked to sign the Bill of Sale (see below), receive all of the additional paperwork, and go over any other questions you may have. And - take your first family photo with your new puppy!
Once you become a part of the WoodHaven Family, WE CONSIDER YOU FAMILY. We are always here to help and provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure a smooth transition for everyone. And, of course, we are always available for questions and pictures!

We try to do everything we possibly can to keep our puppies safe. They are very much like newborns and do not have the immunities to fight germs and infections. Parvo is our biggest scare; it can kill a puppy in less than 24 hours; and it can live in clothing and shoes. Parvo can be picked up anywhere and once it comes to a property, it takes years to get rid of.
Each living creature has been created by God to have a distinct personality - male and female. So there is definitely no hard and fast rule. However, we have found - a female dog will LOVE you til her dying day. A male dog will be IN LOVE with you til his dying day.
Three things:
- This a poodle trait.
- Their tear ducts are not big enough yet to hold all their tears.
- They have a lot of hair around their face/eyes. Just like a bothersome eyelash.

A medium-sized wire crate with a divider is ideal. A puppy should only be ale to turn a circle in the size he's sleeping in. Any extra space becomes a potty space. A wire crate covered with a blanket or a plastic crate is a great "hidey hole" for puppy to make their own safe space. We highly recommend crate training!
F1 Cavapoo = 50% cavalier / 50% poodle - First cross between two purebred dogs
F1b Cavapoo = 25% cavalier / 75% poodle - A "b" means backcross; breed a cavapoo back to a poodle
F1bb Cavapoo (Same as F2) = Cavapoo/Cavapoo - Cavapoo bred back to another cavapoo

WoodHaven Pups does not have personal recommendations on pet insurance.
At WoodHavenPups, we start potty pad training as early as 4weeks. They understand the concept of pottying away from their living space. They don't necessarily understand the how and why, but we are laying the foundation for you to build on.
Speaking of potty training, how long can my puppy "hold it"? The rule of thumb is:
1 month of age = 1 hour of "holding it";
2 months old = 2 hours of holding it;
3 months old = 3 hours of holding it.
At 7 weeks, we start crate training. This means a large crate with the door open in their living area. All of the puppies sleep in a pile in the crate. Again, we are laying the foundation for you. However, once that door is closed, it means separation from family. This will take a few weeks to have your pup be agreeable to crate training. This will be the MOST CHALLENGING job you have ever had!
At this age, a puppy cannot climb multiple stairs, retrieve a ball, know basic commands or even know their name. They are an "infant". They are looking to you for their whole world. This part of puppy life is all about REPETITION.
